Czech Cricket is proud to announce that for the 2015 summer season, Sudhir Gladson will assume the captaincy of the national team.
Sudhir has lived in the Czech Republic since 2007, building up a solid professional career in Prague, as well as a reputation of one of the best cricketers in the country.
He has been a regular fixture in the PCC team for a long time now, and he has played some vital innings over the years. He scored five half-centuries locally last year, including a match-winning knock for the national team against Poland.
Sudhir takes over the captaincy from Vojta Haša. Czech Cricket would like to publicly thank Vojta for the great work he has put into the captaincy in 2013-14, and he is certainly still a big part of our thoughts for the role in the future.
Sudhir will lead the team for the whole of the summer 2015 season, with a review of the role to be conducted by the national team management at the end of the season. No vice-captain will be named at this time, with the issue to be addressed game-by-game as we assess the form of various players.
The Czech National Team is preparing for an increased schedule in 2015, with two T20 tournaments in Prague in discussion, as well as a tour involving longer-form 50-over matches. It is hoped that full details can be confirmed by Spring 2015.
